How will you #EmbraceEquity?

blog

March 5, 2023 By Andrew McCormick, Global Head of Business Development at dentsu X

Imagine a gender equal world. A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that's diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A world where difference is valued and celebrated. Together we can forge women's equality. Collectively we can all #EmbraceEquity.

This International Women's Day, we asked our team to answer the question 'How will you embrace equity?'. Andrew McCormick, Global Head of Business Development at dentsu X answers below.

What does it mean to you to support women in the workplace/industry and have you championed any of these in the past?

For World Book Day this year my daughter chose to dress up as Emmeline Pankhurst, who did so much to give women the right to vote. For all the progress we’ve made over the years I recognise there is still so much more to be done before we can say that there is true equity for women. Being an active ally in the workplace, I have a responsibility to continue to champion equity for women for this generation and those to come.

How have you seen dentsu support women in the workplace/industry?

I’m proud to be part of dentsu’s DEI committee, helping ensure we create equity for everyone. In my career, I am most proud of the work I have contributed to making work places more family friendly and especially for women returning to work after maternity leave.

Why is it important for us to #embrace equity as a society/network and how will you ensure we are always starting from a place of equity?

I am driven to #embraceequity at work and in society, so women today and in future generations benefit from the same opportunities afforded to others. An equitable society is a better society.
