dentsu X UK has appointed Flora Kong as Managing Director, effective 1 January 2026. Kong will lead the agency's strategic direction, client partnerships, and operations, reporting to Shenda Loughnane, interim UK Media President and Global Brand President, dentsu X.
Kong joins from sister dentsu agency, Carat, where she has served as Managing Director, Clients, since 2023. She's led the Client Experience vertical and run major accounts, including The Co-operative Group, Pandora, Post Office and Lionsgate. Prior to that, Kong was with dentsu’s iProspect (following its merger with Vizeum), where she led teams serving Camelot and Honda. Under her leadership, she has delivered consistent commercial growth whilst building a reputation for collaborative, high-performing client teams.
With over 20 years of marketing expertise spanning media owners, client-side, and agency leadership roles, Kong brings a rare breadth of experience to the position. Her career includes insights work at Australian publishing houses, client-side positions at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Santander, and agency leadership at Zenith before joining dentsu UK in 2020.
Beyond her commercial track record, Kong has been a vocal advocate for inclusive leadership and talent development. As co-chair of dentsu UK&I's gender network ONE, she established coaching programmes to support female confidence and representation across the business. Her contributions to both client growth and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives were recognised in 2024 when she was named in Campaign's 40 Over 40, celebrating leaders redefining the industry with vision and impact.
In her new role, Kong will lead the agency, overseeing dentsu X UK's strategic direction, client relationships, and agency operations, with responsibility for bringing to life the agency's 'Experience Beyond' positioning. She will join the dentsu UK&I and Media Senior Leadership Teams.
Shenda Loughnane, UK Media President and Global Brand President, dentsu X, said: “Flora is one of those rare leaders who gets the balance exactly right. Throughout her time at dentsu, she's been as invested in her people as she is in delivering for clients, and that's earned her their trust. She stays close to the detail whilst thinking strategically about where things need to go. That ability to galvanise teams around a shared purpose whilst keeping everyone grounded in commercial reality is exactly what this next chapter requires.”
Flora Kong, incoming Managing Director, dentsu X UK, said: "Taking dentsu X into its next chapter is a real privilege. I'm excited to bring our 'Experience Beyond' vision to life – creating a future where creativity, data, and tech collide to deliver stand-out results for our clients. I look forward to teaming up with Shenda and the dentsu X leadership team to drive a culture that thrives on co-creation, bold ideas, and ingenuity. Together, we'll go beyond."
Kong takes over from Matthew Landeman, who has been promoted to the dentsu Group role of Chief Client Officer, UK & Ireland. Landeman is a dentsu veteran who started out as a graduate trainee for Carat and most recently held the dual roles of Chief Client Officer, Media, and dentsu X Lead.
